Why a family coaster beats the Star Wars headliner

Rise of the Resistance is Hollywood Studios' marquee attraction, but Slinky Dog Dash still runs a longer average line. Two structural reasons show up in the numbers:

• Toy Story Land is small and popular with every age group. Slinky Dog Dash is a coaster gentle enough for most of the family, so it draws both thrill-seekers and younger riders who can't ride Rise of the Resistance or Tower of Terror. That widens the pool of guests competing for one line.
• Peak hourly demand is severe. Slinky Dog Dash's peak hourly average of 87 minutes is the highest single number on this list, even above Rise of the Resistance's peak of 90. The two are close, but Slinky Dog Dash sustains high demand for longer across the day, which is what drags its overall average past Rise of the Resistance's.

Where the new Rock 'n' Roller Coaster fits in

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opened May 26, 2026, replacing the Aerosmith-themed version with a Jim Henson puppet cast and celebrity musician guests, and it carries Lightning Lane Tier 1 status. Our data shows it already pulling the second-highest average wait in the park at 47.5 minutes, with a peak hourly average of 72 minutes — evidence that the reimagining has kept demand high rather than letting it settle.

That means three of Hollywood Studios' four longest lines (Slinky Dog Dash, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Rise of the Resistance) are now clustered within about 11 minutes of each other on average. There is no longer one obvious "worst" ride to build a day around — there are three.
