Test Track Wait Times: When the Line Actually Drops

Test Track averages 64.5 minutes in our wait-time data — second only to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (69.5 minutes) among every attraction at EPCOT. Its worst hour reaches 76.2 minutes. Its best hour drops all the way to 40.6. Knowing which window you're standing in matters more than the headline average.

Where Test Track ranks at EPCOT

Test Track and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind both live in World Discovery, and together they carry the two longest average waits in the entire park by a wide margin over everything else.

Attraction Zone Avg wait (min) Peak hourly avg
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind World Discovery 69.5 110
Test Track World Discovery 64.5 99
Frozen Ever After Norway 45.5 67
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure France 44.0 76
Meet Anna and Elsa at Royal Sommerhus Norway 33.7 66
Soarin' Around the World World Nature 24.9 47

At its single busiest hour, Test Track's average climbs to 99 minutes — well above even its own 64.5-minute all-day figure.

The hour that actually matters

Test Track's own best hour is 10pm, averaging 40.6 minutes. Its worst hour is 7pm, averaging 76.2 minutes — a swing of nearly 36 minutes, or about 88% higher than its calmest point.

That worst hour lines up closely with the park as a whole. Across every attraction at EPCOT, waits build through the morning, dip slightly at midday, then climb again into the evening:

Hour Park-wide avg wait across all attractions (min)
8am 26.5
9am 24.7
10am 26.2
11am 30.3
12pm 29.8
1pm 28.4
2pm 26.8
3pm 26.6
4pm 26.8
5pm 26.7
6pm 27.3
7pm 28.5
8pm 26.2
9pm 24.0
10pm 19.5

Park-wide, 10pm is also the single best hour to be anywhere in EPCOT, and 11am is the park's worst hour overall. Test Track's own worst hour, 7pm, comes later than the park-wide peak — a second evening wave specific to this ride, on top of the late-morning crowd surge everyone else feels.

Why the line doesn't drop until close

Test Track's queue and pre-show design mean it absorbs guests steadily rather than clearing quickly between waves, which is consistent with why its worst reading (7pm) lands well past the park's overall 11am peak. By the time most of EPCOT is cooling off for the night, Test Track is still working through its evening backlog.

The upside: 10pm is genuinely the best time recorded for this ride, not just a decent one. A 40.6-minute average at close is 23.9 minutes shorter than the 7pm figure — the difference between waiting through most of a dinner reservation and waiting through a mid-length TV episode.

How to plan around it

  1. If you can only ride it once, go right at rope drop or right before close. Neither hits Test Track's absolute floor, but both beat the evening peak by a wide margin.
  2. Avoid the 6pm–8pm window entirely if you have flexibility. That stretch overlaps both Test Track's own worst hour and the park's generally elevated evening waits.
  3. Pair it with Spaceship Earth, not against it. Spaceship Earth's 13.3-minute average makes it a low-cost way to fill time near World Celebration while you wait for a better Test Track window later in the night.
