Islands of Adventure With Kids: Ride Order That Works

Start in Seuss Landing. Every ride there averages under 7.5 minutes in our wait-time data, which makes it the easiest zone in the park to fill with reliable, short-wait rides while the rest of Islands of Adventure is still busy.
The Seuss Landing lineup
| Attraction | Avg wait (min) |
|---|---|
| One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish | 7.3 |
| The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride! | 6.9 |
| The Cat in The Hat | 6.8 |
| Caro-Seuss-el | 6.1 |
These four rides are gentle, low-capacity-friendly, and close together, so you can walk the land and hit all of them without much backtracking. Storm Force Accelatron, a family spinner just outside Seuss Landing in Marvel Super Hero Island, adds a fifth option at 5.2 minutes average — the shortest line in the entire park.
Beyond Seuss Landing
Two other rides are built for families with younger kids:
- Flight of the Hippogriff (Hogsmeade) — a gentle launch coaster averaging 18.0 minutes, a reasonable first "real" coaster.
- Pteranodon Flyers (Jurassic Park) — a child-accompaniment ride averaging 26.1 minutes. Its low hourly capacity, not raw demand, is why the wait runs long, so treat it as a once-per-day ride rather than a repeat.
A workable order for a family day
- Ride Seuss Landing first — all four attractions, back to back, while waits are lowest park-wide.
- Add Storm Force Accelatron on the walk toward Marvel Super Hero Island.
- Fit in Flight of the Hippogriff when convenient; its wait sits in the mid-teens most of the day rather than spiking sharply.
- Save Pteranodon Flyers for a single ride given its longer average wait.
- Skip the park's two biggest lines — Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure (60.3 min average) and Jurassic World VelociCoaster (35.8 min average) — unless your group specifically wants the thrill rides; both are intense and long-waited by design. See VelociCoaster vs Hagrid's: Which Line Moves Faster? if you're deciding whether either is worth the wait.
