Orlando Theme Park Parking: Costs and Timing

Standard self-parking is $35 a day at both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando's toll plaza. The difference is what happens after that: Universal parking is free after 6 p.m. every night except Halloween Horror Nights, when free parking doesn't start until after midnight. Disney does not offer a free-parking window.

Prepay to save at Universal

Universal is the one park in this comparison where booking ahead moves the price: prepaid regular self-parking runs $32 versus $35 at the gate. That $3 gap holds regardless of which Universal Orlando park you're visiting that day, including Epic Universe.

Timing matters more than the receipt

A few things worth building into your day:

Universal's free-after-6 p.m. window is real money back if you're doing a half-day evening visit — see our guide to half-day park plans.
SeaWorld's pricing is date-based. The $30–$35 range moves higher on weekends and event days, so a Tuesday visit and a Saturday visit are not the same line item.
Preferred and VIP tiers buy you distance, not a shorter line inside the park. If your priority is beating the queue rather than the walk from your car, that budget is usually better spent on arriving earlier than on a closer parking spot.

Planning a two-park day

If you're splitting a day between Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, you park once — the toll plaza covers both.
