What Our Wait-Time Data Reveals About Park Lines

At Disney's Animal Kingdom, wait times swing 129% between the best hour and the worst — from a 13.5-minute park-wide average at 7pm to 30.9 minutes at noon. That's the largest best-hour-to-worst-hour spread of any Walt Disney World park, and one of the biggest swings we track anywhere: only SeaWorld Orlando, at 391%, swings harder.

The midday peak is the norm — but not universal

Seven of these eight parks post their worst park-wide hour somewhere between 11am and 4pm: EPCOT peaks at 11am; Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom all peak at 12pm; and Universal Studios Florida and SeaWorld Orlando peak between 3pm and 4pm.

Magic Kingdom is the outlier, breaking that pattern with an evening peak at 7pm instead. That's a meaningfully different shape of day, and it means "get there early and leave by mid-afternoon" — good advice at EPCOT — is the wrong plan at Magic Kingdom.

The most and least predictable parks

EPCOT has the smallest best-to-worst gap in this group at 55%, meaning its wait times stay comparatively flat across the day. SeaWorld Orlando sits at the other extreme, swinging 391% between its best and worst hour — more than triple the biggest swing among Walt Disney World's own parks. If you're building a plan around "typical" waits, that difference matters: a flatter park like EPCOT tolerates a looser schedule, while a high-swing park like SeaWorld Orlando rewards showing up during that narrow best-hour window.
