Epic Universe: The Complete 2026 Touring Guide

Mine-Cart Madness in Super Nintendo World is averaging 81.1 minutes in our wait-time data — the longest average wait we track anywhere. Nothing else we track, at any park, comes close. That one number should shape how you plan an Epic Universe day more than anything else in this guide.
Everything below comes from the wait-time data we track across Epic Universe's 13 major attractions. Here is how to use it.
The five worlds, at a glance
Epic Universe is organized into five themed lands, each built around one intellectual property. Our data covers attractions in all five:
- Super Nintendo World — Mine-Cart Madness, Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge, Yoshi's Adventure, Bowser Jr. Challenge
- Ministry of Magic — Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry
- Isle of Berk — Meet Toothless and Friends, Hiccup Wing Glider, Dragon Racer's Rally, Fyre Drill
- Dark Universe — Curse of the Werewolf, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment
- Celestial Park — Stardust Racers, Constellation Carousel
Full attraction wait-time table
This is the complete list of the park's 13 major attractions, ranked by average wait, busiest first.
| Attraction | Land | Avg wait (min) | Peak hourly avg (min) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mine-Cart Madness | Super Nintendo World | 81.1 | 134 |
| Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry | Ministry of Magic | 61.8 | 132 |
| Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge | Super Nintendo World | 46.7 | 108 |
| Meet Toothless and Friends | Isle of Berk | 45.9 | 79 |
| Curse of the Werewolf | Dark Universe | 32.7 | 65 |
| Hiccup Wing Glider | Isle of Berk | 27.2 | 65 |
| Dragon Racer's Rally | Isle of Berk | 25 | 47 |
| Fyre Drill | Isle of Berk | 22.4 | 78 |
| Yoshi's Adventure | Super Nintendo World | 22.4 | 56 |
| Stardust Racers | Celestial Park | 21 | 71 |
| Constellation Carousel | Celestial Park | 14.9 | 33 |
| Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment | Dark Universe | 12.4 | 23 |
| Bowser Jr. Challenge | Super Nintendo World | 7.7 | 15 |
Three attractions — Mine-Cart Madness, Battle at the Ministry, and Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge — carry double the average wait of everything else in the park. Build your day around those three first.
Land by land
Super Nintendo World
This land holds both the park's longest wait (Mine-Cart Madness, 81.1 min average, peaking at a 134-minute hourly average) and its shortest (Bowser Jr. Challenge, 7.7 min average). Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge sits in between at 46.7 minutes, with a peak hourly average of 108 minutes. Yoshi's Adventure is the relief valve here at 22.4 minutes average — use it while your group waits out a Mine-Cart Madness queue in shifts, or ride it whenever you pass by.
Ministry of Magic
One attraction, and it is a heavy hitter: Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry averages 61.8 minutes, with a peak hourly average of 132 minutes — nearly matching Mine-Cart Madness at its worst. This is a single-attraction land, so there is no "quiet" option nearby to fill time; plan your Ministry of Magic visit deliberately rather than as a walk-up.
Isle of Berk
The busiest attraction here isn't the coaster — it's the meet and greet. Meet Toothless and Friends averages 45.9 minutes, drawing more visits than any other attraction in the park. Hiccup Wing Glider (27.2 min) and Dragon Racer's Rally (25 min) are the land's family coasters, and Fyre Drill rounds it out at 22.4 minutes average with a peak hourly average of 78 minutes — a bigger swing than its average alone suggests.
Dark Universe
The calmest land in our data. Curse of the Werewolf averages 32.7 minutes, and Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment averages just 12.4 minutes, the second-shortest wait in the park. If your group needs a break from Super Nintendo World or Ministry of Magic crowds, this is where to take it.
Celestial Park
Stardust Racers averages 21 minutes but has a peak hourly average of 71 minutes, so timing matters more here than the headline number suggests. Constellation Carousel averages 14.9 minutes and is one of the easier walk-ons in the park outside of peak hours.
When to go
Across all 13 attractions, park-wide average wait by hour follows a clear midday spike:
| Hour | Park-wide avg wait (min) |
|---|---|
| 8am | 22.5 |
| 9am | 24.7 |
| 10am | 34 |
| 11am | 41.9 |
| 12pm | 45.8 |
| 1pm | 41.9 |
| 2pm | 39.1 |
| 3pm | 39 |
| 4pm | 35.7 |
| 5pm | 33.4 |
| 6pm | 30.5 |
| 7pm | 27.1 |
| 8pm | 24.4 |
| 9pm | 21.8 |
| 10pm | 36.9 |
Best hour: 9pm, averaging 21.8 minutes park-wide. Worst hour: noon, at 45.8 minutes — 110% higher than 9pm. Note the late uptick at 10pm (36.9 minutes); this is not a steady decline into closing, so don't assume the last hour is automatically the quietest.
By day of week, Wednesday is the quietest day in our data (28.9 minutes average) and Monday the busiest (39.9 minutes average).
| Day | Avg wait (min) |
|---|---|
| Sunday | 35.9 |
| Monday | 39.9 |
| Tuesday | 32.0 |
| Wednesday | 28.9 |
| Thursday | 30.1 |
| Friday | 35.7 |
| Saturday | 31.1 |

Best and worst hour, attraction by attraction
The park-wide averages hide real variation between rides. Here is every attraction's single best and worst hour:
| Attraction | Best hour | Best avg (min) | Worst hour | Worst avg (min) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mine-Cart Madness | 9pm | 57.7 | 12pm | 108.7 |
| Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry | 9pm | 22.4 | 2pm | 83.9 |
| Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge | 9pm | 16.0 | 12pm | 78.7 |
| Meet Toothless and Friends | 9pm | 36.9 | 12pm | 65.6 |
| Curse of the Werewolf | 8am | 4.4 | 1pm | 44.3 |
| Hiccup Wing Glider | 8am | 4.9 | 12pm | 40.4 |
| Dragon Racer's Rally | 8am | 7.6 | 11am | 37.4 |
| Fyre Drill | 9pm | 4.7 | 12pm | 46.3 |
| Yoshi's Adventure | 8am | 5.6 | 11am | 43.8 |
| Stardust Racers | 8am | 8.5 | 9pm | 32.0 |
| Constellation Carousel | 8am | 5.0 | 9pm | 26.8 |
| Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment | 8am | 7.5 | 12pm | 15.0 |
| Bowser Jr. Challenge | 8am | 5.0 | 6pm | 10.7 |
Most of the park's biggest names — Mine-Cart Madness, Battle at the Ministry, Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge, Meet Toothless and Friends, and Fyre Drill — share the same best hour, 9pm, and the same worst window, noon to 2pm: save the headliners for evening, avoid them at lunchtime.
Two rides break that rule. Stardust Racers and Constellation Carousel are both best at 8am and worst at 9pm — the opposite pattern. Save them for the closing rush and you'll hit their single worst hour instead of their best.
A sample day, hour by hour
- 8am, rope drop: Stardust Racers (8.5 min) and Constellation Carousel (5.0 min) first, since both get worse later, not better. Then Curse of the Werewolf (4.4 min), Hiccup Wing Glider (4.9 min), Dragon Racer's Rally (7.6 min), Monsters Unchained (7.5 min), Yoshi's Adventure (5.6 min), and Bowser Jr. Challenge (5.0 min) — all near their single best hour.
- 11am–2pm: avoid new attempts. Six of thirteen attractions peak at noon, including Mine-Cart Madness at 108.7 minutes; Battle at the Ministry peaks at 2pm (83.9 minutes). Use this window for a meal or a show.
- 9pm, before close: Best recorded hour for the park's five biggest rides. Mine-Cart Madness drops to 57.7 minutes (still the night's longest wait, but 47% below its noon peak), Battle at the Ministry to 22.4 minutes, Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge to 16.0 minutes, Meet Toothless and Friends to 36.9 minutes, and Fyre Drill to 4.7 minutes. Skip Stardust Racers and Constellation Carousel now — both are at their worst hour here.
Who Epic Universe is for
Three attractions — Mine-Cart Madness, Battle at the Ministry, and Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge — demand deliberate planning: arrive at open, stay to 9pm, or pay for Express Pass Now on the one ride that matters most. It's a tougher fit for a single half-day visit; guests wanting a low-wait day are better served starting at SeaWorld Orlando or Islands of Adventure, where more of the lineup sits in single digits.
What's new: Express Pass Now
Universal introduced Express Pass Now at Epic Universe in summer 2026 — a one-time, per-attraction line-skip priced at $20–$25 each. Unlike the Unlimited Express Pass sold at Universal's other Orlando parks, Epic Universe has no unlimited option in 2026: Express there is once per ride, per day, purchased attraction by attraction. Given that Mine-Cart Madness and Battle at the Ministry are both averaging over an hour, this is the kind of park where a targeted Express Pass purchase on your longest-wait attraction can matter more than at parks with flatter wait profiles.
Building your plan
- Ride Mine-Cart Madness and Battle at the Ministry first, at park open or during the 9pm best-hour window — never at midday.
- Use Dark Universe as your midday buffer; its waits stay comparatively low all day.
- If you're short on time, consider Express Pass Now specifically for Mine-Cart Madness or Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge, the two priciest waits in minutes.
- Check Epic Universe wait time patterns before you go, and let Park Autopilot build your order around live data on the day.
