A Four-Day Disney World Week: Which Park on Which Day
Wednesday is the quietest day at EPCOT. It is also the quietest day at Hollywood Studios, and the quietest day at Animal Kingdom. Three parks, one best day, and a four-day trip has exactly one Wednesday in it.
That is the problem nobody's park-by-park advice solves. Knowing each park's best day individually is easy. Fitting four parks into four different days, when three of them want the same one, is a different question — and the answer is not "give Wednesday to whichever park you like most."
The full picture: every park, every day
These are park-wide averages across all attractions on a typical operating day.

Each park's own best day is in bold. Magic Kingdom takes Tuesday at 13.5 minutes. The other three all take Wednesday.
Why you can't just hand out best days
Add up the four best-day figures and you get a number that looks like a plan:
13.5 + 22.6 + 25.0 + 15.6 = 76.7 minutes
It isn't one. That total requires three parks to occupy Wednesday simultaneously. It's a floor that cannot be reached, useful only as the benchmark to measure a real schedule against.
A real schedule assigns four parks to four different days. Work through every possible arrangement and two come out joint-best, at 79.4 minutes — just 2.7 above the impossible floor:

Identical totals. EPCOT and Animal Kingdom simply swap Wednesday and Thursday, and it makes no measurable difference which way round you do it — so pick on dining reservations, park hours, or whatever else your trip cares about.
The counterintuitive part: Hollywood Studios gives up Wednesday
Look at what each park loses by moving off Wednesday to its next-best day:
- EPCOT: Wednesday 22.6 → Thursday 23.4. Penalty: 0.8 minutes.
- Animal Kingdom: Wednesday 15.6 → Thursday 16.4. Penalty: 0.8 minutes.
- Hollywood Studios: Wednesday 25.0 → Monday 26.9. Penalty: 1.9 minutes.
Hollywood Studios has the largest individual penalty, and it is still the park that should yield. That looks wrong until you follow the knock-on effects.
If Hollywood Studios keeps Wednesday, then EPCOT and Animal Kingdom are both pushed off it, and both want Thursday next. One of them has to go further. The best available version of that is Animal Kingdom on Thursday (16.4) with EPCOT on Monday (26.7), alongside Magic Kingdom on Tuesday and Hollywood Studios on Wednesday:
25.0 + 13.5 + 26.7 + 16.4 = 81.6 minutes
That is 2.2 minutes worse than the 79.4 schedules. Hollywood Studios saves 1.9 by keeping Wednesday and costs EPCOT 4.1 to do it. The park that should move is not the one with the smallest personal loss — it's the one whose second choice is least contested. Monday is quiet enough for Hollywood Studios and nobody else is fighting for it.
How much is any of this worth?
Take the same four parks and four separate days, and pick the worst arrangement available across a full week:

34.2 + 20.7 + 29.7 + 22.8 = 107.4 minutes
107.4 − 79.4 = 28.0 minutes of difference in the park-day averages, from nothing but the calendar. Same parks, same rides, same number of days. It's the cheapest planning decision available, because you make it before you book anything.
If Tuesday isn't available
Magic Kingdom on Tuesday is the single biggest win in either schedule — 13.5 minutes, the lowest figure anywhere in the table. If your travel dates don't include one, Friday is the substitute: Magic Kingdom runs 14.8 on a Friday, only 1.3 higher, and comfortably better than its Thursday (18.9) or Wednesday (18.6).
Swapping Magic Kingdom to Friday and leaving the rest alone gives:
26.9 + 14.8 + 22.6 + 16.4 = 80.7 minutes — 1.3 worse than the best, and still 26.7 better than the worst case.
Two things the table quietly tells you
Hollywood Studios is the park to protect. Its numbers run higher than every other park on every single day of the week — its best day, Wednesday at 25.0 minutes, is worse than Magic Kingdom's worst day (Saturday, 20.7) and level with Animal Kingdom's worst (Sunday, 25.1). Friday is not a weekend day, except at Hollywood Studios. Magic Kingdom (14.8), EPCOT (26.3) and Animal Kingdom (20.9) all run better on Friday than on Sunday. Hollywood Studios does the opposite: 34.2 on Friday is its worst reading of the week, higher than either weekend day. It is the one park where a Friday visit is a genuine mistake.
