Star Tours – The Adventures Continue averages 5.7 minutes. Slinky Dog Dash averages 60.3. The same park holds both, and one of them is more than ten times the other (60.3 ÷ 5.7 = 10.6). Hollywood Studios is the most front-loaded park at Disney World — three lands carry almost all the wait, and the four areas in between carry almost none.

Almost. Toy Story Mania! averages 33.3 minutes, which is more than The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror's 32.7. The overlooked half of Hollywood Studios has one line that out-waits a Sunset Boulevard headliner, and the plans that ignore it pay for that.

These six average 21.7 minutes between them (130.1 ÷ 6). The park's three biggest draws — Slinky Dog Dash, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — average 48.1 (144.2 ÷ 3). That gap is the whole argument for knowing this part of the park: it is where the cheap minutes are.

Toy Story Mania is a headliner and should be treated like one

Toy Story Mania! sits fourth at Hollywood Studios by average wait, 0.6 minutes ahead of Tower of Terror and 0.5 ahead of Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. It also swings hard: 14 minutes at 8am, 44.1 at noon. That is a 30.1-minute increase, or 215% above its opening figure, and its busiest hour has averaged 66 minutes.

Nothing about the ride announces this. It is a midway shooting gallery with a short, air-conditioned-looking queue, tucked behind Toy Story Land in a plaza most guests walk through on the way to Slinky Dog Dash. The queue capacity is the problem: it absorbs the overflow from the land next door.

Ride it at 8am or not before dinner. There is no good midday version of Toy Story Mania.

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway is the 11am trap

Runaway Railway averages 32.8 minutes, with a best hour of 8am (16.1) and a worst hour of 11am (44.3) — a 28.2-minute swing, or 175%. Its worst hour arrives an hour before the park's does.

That is a specific, exploitable fact. The park-wide peak is noon (37.1 minutes); Runaway Railway's peak is 11am. It sits directly inside the entrance on Hollywood Boulevard, which means it collects every guest who walks in late-morning and has not decided where to go yet. By noon those guests have dispersed into the lands and Runaway Railway starts easing while the rest of the park is still climbing.

If you arrive at 10:30am, walk past it.

11am is the worst hour for half of this list

Three of the six attractions here — Runaway Railway, Meet Olaf at Celebrity Spotlight and Star Tours — all post their worst hour at 11am, an hour before the park-wide peak. For this stretch of Hollywood Studios, the late-morning hour is the one to spend somewhere else.

Star Tours is worth a line of its own. Its average of 5.7 minutes makes it the shortest wait of any attraction at Hollywood Studios, and even at its worst hour it only reaches 8.1 minutes. But its busiest hour has averaged 20 minutes, which is 3.5 times its all-day figure (20 ÷ 5.7). A ride that is almost always a walk-on is not always a walk-on, and when it is not, you will not have planned for it.

Edna Mode ignores the clock completely

Meet Edna Mode at the Edna Mode Experience averages 13.8 minutes. Its best hour is 13.5 minutes. Its worst hour is 14. That is a half-minute spread across the entire operating day — the flattest curve of any attraction at Hollywood Studios, and one of the flattest anywhere in Orlando.

Its best hour is noon, which is the park's single worst hour at 37.1 minutes park-wide. That combination makes Edna Mode genuinely useful rather than merely a curiosity: it is the one line at Hollywood Studios that does not get worse when everything else does. If you need somewhere to be at midday, this is it.

Red Carpet Dreams over in Commissary Lane is the opposite kind of meet. It averages 28.8 minutes, bottoms out at 9am (18.8) and peaks at 6pm (34.5) — a 15.7-minute swing, or 84%, and the only attraction in this group whose worst hour comes in the evening. Character meets fill up at dinner while rides are emptying out.

Hollywood Studios is the one park where Friday is the worst day

Across the parks we track, the busiest day is almost always Saturday or Sunday. Hollywood Studios is the exception.

Friday averages 34.2 minutes — above Sunday's 33.3 and Saturday's 33.2. Wednesday is the floor at 25 — a 9.2-minute gap, which puts Friday 37% above Wednesday. Note also that Tuesday (31.4) runs well above Monday (26.9) and Thursday (25.5), so "midweek" is not a single thing here.

A route through the overlooked half

1. 8am — Toy Story Mania! or Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. Both post their best hour now (14 and 16.1 minutes) and both more than double by late morning. These are the only two attractions in this guide that genuinely need rope drop.
2. 9am — Meet Olaf at Celebrity Spotlight and Red Carpet Dreams. Both bottom out at 9am (9.8 and 18.8 minutes). Red Carpet Dreams is the one to prioritise, since it climbs to 34.5 by 6pm.
3. Before 11am — Star Tours. Still cheap at any hour, but 4.5 minutes at 8am against 8.1 at 11am, and it is a quick win while you are already at Echo Lake.
4. 11am — leave this part of the park. Three of the six attractions here peak at 11am. Go to Galaxy's Edge or Sunset Boulevard instead.
5. 12pm — Meet Edna Mode. The park's worst hour, and the one line that does not notice it. Its best hour is noon, at 13.5 minutes.
6. 6pm — avoid Commissary Lane. Red Carpet Dreams peaks here at 34.5 minutes.
7. Late evening — second laps at Pixar Plaza. Toy Story Mania's 44.1-minute noon figure is long gone by the time the park-wide average falls to 20.8 at 10pm.
