Which Disney World Land Has the Longest Lines?

Walk into EPCOT's World Discovery and the average attraction there will cost you 49.4 minutes. Walk into Hollywood Studios' Echo Lake and the same figure is 10.7. Both are lands inside Walt Disney World. One runs more than four and a half times longer than the other.
Most touring advice treats parks as the unit of planning — pick the right park, arrive at the right time. But you don't stand in a park. You stand in a land, and the gap between Disney World's busiest neighbourhood and its calmest one is wider than the gap between any two parks.
How this ranking works
Each land's figure is the plain average of the attraction averages inside it. World Discovery holds Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (72.2 minutes), Test Track (60.3) and Mission: SPACE (15.7). Add those and divide by three:
(72.2 + 60.3 + 15.7) ÷ 3 = 148.2 ÷ 3 = 49.4 minutes
Echo Lake holds two: Meet Olaf at Celebrity Spotlight (15.7) and Star Tours – The Adventures Continue (5.7).
(15.7 + 5.7) ÷ 2 = 21.4 ÷ 2 = 10.7 minutes
Every row below is built the same way. Lands with only one tracked attraction are left out of the ranking — a single ride is a ride, not a neighbourhood — but they're covered separately further down, because one of them would have placed very high.

| 10 | Tomorrowland | Magic Kingdom | 20.4 |
| 11 | Discovery Island | Animal Kingdom | 18.1 |
| 12 | Liberty Square | Magic Kingdom | 16.9 |
| 13 | Main Street, U.S.A. | Magic Kingdom | 16.8 |
| 14 | Fantasyland | Magic Kingdom | 16.6 |
| 15 | World Celebration | EPCOT | 15.4 |
| 16 | World Nature | EPCOT | 13.1 |
| 17 | Adventureland | Magic Kingdom | 12.9 |
| 18 | Africa | Animal Kingdom | 11.2 |
| 19 | Echo Lake | Hollywood Studios | 10.7 |
Hollywood Studios is the most lopsided park in Disney World
Three of the six busiest lands belong to Hollywood Studios: Toy Story Land (39.0), Sunset Boulevard (38.1) and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge (31.3). The single calmest land in all of Walt Disney World also belongs to Hollywood Studios: Echo Lake, at 10.7.
That spread explains why Hollywood Studios feels harder to tour than its ride count suggests. The park's demand is concentrated into three corners, and the pressure release — Echo Lake, where Star Tours averages just 5.7 minutes — sits on the opposite side of the map from Toy Story Land. There's no walking your way out of a bad hour without crossing the whole park.
Compare that with Animal Kingdom, whose four ranked lands run 35.1, 21.1, 18.1 and 11.2. Still a real spread, but a gentler one, and Africa's 11.2 is a genuine mid-day refuge rather than a trek.
No Magic Kingdom land cracks the top eight
This is the result that surprises people. Magic Kingdom's busiest land is Frontierland at 20.9 minutes — ninth overall. Tomorrowland, which contains TRON Lightcycle / Run and its 52.3-minute average, the longest single wait in the park, comes tenth at 20.4.
The reason is arithmetic rather than crowds. Tomorrowland's seven tracked attractions include the PeopleMover (7.3 minutes), Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor (9.7) and Astro Orbiter (10.8). TRON's enormous number gets averaged against six much smaller ones:
(52.3 + 26.2 + 25 + 11.4 + 10.8 + 9.7 + 7.3) ÷ 7 = 142.7 ÷ 7 = 20.4 minutes
Fantasyland is the extreme case. Fifteen tracked attractions, including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (39.6) and Peter Pan's Flight (33.1), and it still lands fourteenth at 16.6 minutes — behind Main Street, U.S.A. Fantasyland has more short lines than anywhere else in Disney World, and they pull the average down hard.
That is not a reason to relax in Fantasyland. It's a reason to read a land average for what it is: the cost of an average ride there, not the cost of the ride you actually want. If your Fantasyland list is Seven Dwarfs and Peter Pan's Flight, your afternoon looks nothing like 16.6 minutes. Our Fantasyland guide works through that ride by ride.
The lands with a single attraction
Six lands hold only one tracked attraction each, so they sit outside the ranking. Their numbers still matter:
| Land | Park | Attraction | Avg wait (min) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hollywood Boulevard | Hollywood Studios | Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway | 32.8 |
| Commissary Lane | Hollywood Studios | Meet Disney Stars at Red Carpet Dreams | 28.8 |
| Rafiki's Planet Watch | Animal Kingdom | Bluey's Wild World at Conservation Station | 18.1 |
| Canada | EPCOT | Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 | 15.0 |
| Mexico | EPCOT | Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros | 7.2 |
| France | EPCOT | Remy's Ratatouille Adventure | 42.8 |
France is the one worth flagging. Remy's Ratatouille Adventure averages 42.8 minutes — higher than Norway's 40.3, which means France would have ranked second in the main table if a one-ride land qualified. If you are walking World Showcase and treating the pavilions as interchangeable, they are not: France and Norway between them hold the two longest waits on that side of the park.
What to do with this
Never plan a land as a block. The busiest lands are busy because of one or two attractions, and the calm lands are calm all the way through. Toy Story Land's 39.0 comes almost entirely from Slinky Dog Dash (60.3) sitting alongside Alien Swirling Saucers (17.8). Book your day around individual rides, and use land averages only to decide where not to wander when you have a spare half hour.
Use the bottom of the table as your recovery map. Echo Lake (10.7), Africa (11.2), Adventureland (12.9) and World Nature (13.1) are the four places in Disney World where you can ride several things in a row without a real queue. Every park has one, which is genuinely useful: whichever park you're in, there is somewhere to go when the headliner lines are at their worst.
Cross-check against the park you picked. A land average tells you what a neighbourhood costs; it doesn't tell you which park to visit on which day. For that, see which Disney World park really has the shortest lines.
The bottom line
World Discovery at EPCOT is the most expensive place to stand in Walt Disney World, at 49.4 minutes per attraction, and it isn't close — the gap to second-placed Norway is 9.1 minutes. Hollywood Studios owns both the crowded end and the calm end of the list. And Magic Kingdom, the park most people assume has the worst lines, doesn't put a single land in the top eight, because its long queues sit right next to a great many short ones.
