Magic Kingdom Closes at 6pm on 12 November Nights

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party returns to Magic Kingdom on Sunday, November 8, and on every party night the park closes to regular day guests at 6:00 PM, with the ticketed event running 7:00 PM to midnight (Disney Tourist Blog, WDW News Today). There are 12 of those nights in November alone.

That 6:00 PM cutoff lands badly. In our wait-time data, 6pm is Magic Kingdom's single worst hour of the day, averaging 20.5 minutes across the park. The two hours that follow it are among the park's cheapest. On a party night you are shown the door during the worst hour and never reach the good ones.

The 12 November party nights

Party nights in November 2026 are the 8th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 24th, 25th, 27th and 29th. The event continues on select nights through Tuesday, December 22. Tickets run $189 to $229 plus tax depending on the date, with children aged 3 to 9 paying $10 less, and party ticket holders can enter Magic Kingdom from 4:00 PM (Disney Tourist Blog).

Why the 6pm close costs you more than an hour

Here is Magic Kingdom's park-wide average wait by hour. The rows a party-night day ticket cannot reach are the last two.

The park's three cheapest hours are 8am (11.5 minutes), 10pm (12.4) and 9pm (14.6). A party night removes two of those three. The gap between the hour you are forced to end on and the hour you lose is 20.5 − 12.4 = 8.1 minutes on every line you would have joined.

It is worse for the specific rides people save for last. Eight Magic Kingdom attractions post their single shortest average at 10pm, including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (27.7 minutes at 10pm against 47 at 5pm) and Peter Pan's Flight (20.3 at 10pm against 41.5 at 1pm). Those are the park's second- and third-longest lines, and a party night deletes the one hour where both are cheap. Disney has handed back the morning

There is a partial offset. For the week of November 8, Magic Kingdom's opening moved from 9:00 AM to 8:00 AM on November 8, 9 and 13 — all three of them party nights (MickeyBlog).

That matters, because 8am is the single cheapest hour in the park at 11.5 minutes, cheaper even than 10pm. If you are visiting on a party night, the extra opening hour is worth more than the evening you are giving up: 11.5 minutes beats the 12.4 you lose at 10pm, and you get it without fighting the 6pm crowd surge toward the exits.

The same update extends Magic Kingdom to 11:00 PM on November 10 and 11, up from 10:00 PM, and to 11:00 PM on November 14. Our hourly figures stop at 10pm, so we cannot tell you what that extra hour looks like.

The better evening is at Animal Kingdom

The same hours update pushes Animal Kingdom from a 6:00 PM close to 7:00 PM on November 8, 9 and 13, and to 8:00 PM on November 14, with Tree of Life Nighttime Awakenings starting at 6:05 PM (MickeyBlog).

Animal Kingdom is the one Disney park whose best hour is in the evening. Its park-wide average bottoms out at 7pm at 12.4 minutes, against a worst hour of 11am at 26.9. The rides follow the same shape:

So the clean party-night shape is a Magic Kingdom morning from 8am, out before the 6pm wall, and an Animal Kingdom evening that runs to the hour Animal Kingdom is actually cheapest. Hollywood Studios also opens at 8:30 AM on November 14 for Disney Jollywood Nights, half an hour earlier than planned; its own best hour is 8am at 18.4 minutes, so an early open is worth taking there too.

One more thing closed this month

Tiana's Bayou Adventure went down for refurbishment on November 2 and is not expected back until December. It averages 25.9 minutes, the second-longest line in Frontierland, so any Magic Kingdom plan built before this month needs a new first hour regardless of the party schedule. What to actually do

1. Check whether your Magic Kingdom day is a party night before anything else. Four of the first six November Magic Kingdom days are party nights.
2. If it is, treat it as a morning park. Be at the tapstiles for the 8:00 AM open where it is offered, and ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan's Flight before 10am rather than saving them for a closing hour you will not get.
3. If you want a late Magic Kingdom night, aim for November 10, 11 or 14. Those are the extended-hours dates, not party dates.
4. Move the evening to Animal Kingdom. Its 7pm average of 12.4 minutes is the best evening number at Walt Disney World.
5. Confirm hours in My Disney Experience the week of your visit. Disney changed these dates once already in late October.
