Universal Orlando Single Rider Lines: Which Ones Save Time

Disney World runs single rider lines too, but on a much smaller scale than Universal Orlando does. Across Universal's three Orlando parks, the single rider lines worth using are the ones attached to the rides with the longest regular queues — and right now, that means Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure (60.3-minute average standby) and Mine-Cart Madness at Epic Universe (81.1-minute average standby). Both offer a free, separate line that runs faster than the standby queue when it's open, though neither guarantees you'll skip the wait entirely.

Which rides currently offer single rider

Single rider lines exist on these attractions, according to current park guides (ThemeParkHipster, Disney Tourist Blog):

Attraction Park Standby avg wait (min)
Mine-Cart Madness Epic Universe 81.1
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry Epic Universe 61.8
Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure Islands of Adventure 60.3
Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge Epic Universe 46.7
Curse of the Werewolf Epic Universe 32.7
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts Universal Studios Florida 31.1
Hiccup Wing Glider Epic Universe 27.2
Revenge of the Mummy Universal Studios Florida 25.6
Stardust Racers Epic Universe 21
TRANSFORMERS: The Ride-3D Universal Studios Florida 22.1
Skull Island: Reign of Kong Islands of Adventure 15
The Incredible Hulk Coaster Islands of Adventure 14.7
Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment Epic Universe 12.4

What actually matters when you pick a single rider line

  • Prioritize the highest-standby rides. Skipping even part of an 81-minute or 60-minute standby line (Mine-Cart Madness, Battle at the Ministry, Hagrid's) is worth far more than skipping part of a 12–15 minute line (Monsters Unchained, Hulk Coaster, Skull Island).
  • It's not guaranteed to be open. Availability changes day to day based on staffing and crowd levels — Hagrid's single rider line in particular is known to close on busier days.
  • It splits your group. Single rider seats you in whatever seat is open, usually alone or with strangers, so it's a solo-rider or "we don't need to sit together" tool, not a family line.
  • It's free. Unlike Universal Express Pass Now at Epic Universe, which runs $20–$25 per ride for a one-time line skip, single rider costs nothing — it's just a different queue.

Check current standby waits before you decide on the Universal Studios Florida wait-times page.
