Universal Studios Florida Touring Plan for 2026

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts averages 31.1 minutes — the longest average wait of any ride at Universal Studios Florida, with a peak hourly average of 64 minutes. That single ride should shape the first hour of your day.

This plan is built entirely from our wait-time data across every attraction at the park. No seasonal comparisons, no guesswork — just what the data says about when to ride what.

Every tracked attraction, ranked by average wait

Attraction Zone Avg wait (min) Peak hourly avg
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts Diagon Alley 31.1 64
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem Minion Land 29.7 54
E.T. Adventure Hollywood 27.2 47
Revenge of the Mummy New York 25.6 47
The Simpsons Ride World Expo 23.4 48
TRANSFORMERS: The Ride-3D Production Central 22.1 48
Hogwarts Express – King's Cross Station Diagon Alley 21.0 49
Fast & Furious – Supercharged San Francisco 19.4 44
Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon New York 17.9 39
MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack! World Expo 17.8 38
Trolls Trollercoaster DreamWorks Land 10.2 23
Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl World Expo 10.1 19
Villain-Con Minion Blast Minion Land 5.9 17

Despicable Me Minion Mayhem is the real surprise here: a family-friendly simulator ride that averages nearly as long a wait as Gringotts, and peaks even higher relative to its average.

Park-wide wait by hour

Hour Avg wait across all attractions (min)
10am 13.9
11am 18.3
12pm 22.6
1pm 23.0
2pm 23.7
3pm 24.8
4pm 24.3
5pm 22.8
6pm 20.8
7pm 17.8
8pm 16.4
9pm 14.6
10pm 11.5

Best hour: 10pm (11.5 minutes). Worst hour: 3pm (24.8 minutes) — 116% higher than the best hour. The park builds steadily from open, peaks in mid-afternoon, and unwinds through the evening. If you can stay late, the last two hours of operating day are consistently the easiest.

Best day of the week to visit

Day Avg wait (min)
Sunday 19.7
Monday 21.8
Tuesday 19.1
Wednesday 19.9
Thursday 18.9
Friday 20.0
Saturday 22.2

Thursday is the quietest day in our data (18.9 minutes average). Saturday is the busiest (22.2 minutes). The spread here is much tighter than the hour-by-hour swing, so day-of-week choice matters less than time-of-day choice at this park.

Every attraction's best and worst hour

The park-wide table above smooths out a lot of ride-level detail. Here is the single best and worst hour for all 13 attractions:

Attraction Best hour Best avg (min) Worst hour Worst avg (min)
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts 10pm 16.1 3pm 49.5
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem 10pm 4.6 11am 47.5
E.T. Adventure 11am 20.1 12pm 33.1
Revenge of the Mummy 10am 14.5 1pm 31.0
The Simpsons Ride 10am 11.9 2pm 37.4
TRANSFORMERS: The Ride-3D 10pm 6.9 12pm 36.3
Hogwarts Express – King's Cross Station 10am 9.9 5pm 36.2
Fast & Furious – Supercharged 10am 10.0 5pm 30.3
Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon 10pm 6.9 12pm 30.5
MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack! 10am 9.9 2pm 27.5
Trolls Trollercoaster 10pm 4.6 3pm 17.1
Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl 11am 5.1 2pm 12.9
Villain-Con Minion Blast 10pm 4.6 11am 9.1

The standout is Despicable Me Minion Mayhem: its worst hour is 11am, at 47.5 minutes — nearly matching Gringotts's own worst hour of 49.5 minutes at 3pm. Most of the park settles into its best hour late, at 10pm, but E.T. Adventure and Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl are exceptions, both best at 11am instead. If you're touring by attraction rather than by the park-wide clock, check this table before you check the general park-wide pattern above.

Diagon Alley: your opening priority

Diagon Alley is the park's biggest draw and the reason most touring plans start here. Escape from Gringotts is your target the moment the park opens — its average wait (31.1 minutes) and peak (64 minutes) make it the single hardest ride to catch cheaply later in the day. Hogwarts Express – King's Cross Station, which also lives in Diagon Alley, is a lower-stakes companion ride at 21 minutes average — ride it on your way out of the land rather than doubling back later.

Minion Land: don't skip Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

Minion Land holds two very different rides. Despicable Me Minion Mayhem (29.7 minutes average, 54-minute peak) is nearly as demanding as Gringotts and deserves an early slot. Villain-Con Minion Blast, by contrast, averages just 5.9 minutes — the shortest wait of any ride we tracked at this park. Save it for whenever you're walking past; there's little reason to plan around it.

Hollywood, New York, and World Expo: the midday stretch

E.T. Adventure (27.2 minutes), Revenge of the Mummy (25.6 minutes), and The Simpsons Ride (23.4 minutes) form the backbone of the middle of your day. Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon (17.9 minutes) and MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack! (17.8 minutes) are more forgiving and can flex around your schedule. Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl, at 10.1 minutes average, is easy to fit in anywhere.

Production Central, San Francisco, and DreamWorks Land

TRANSFORMERS: The Ride-3D (22.1 minutes) is worth riding near the start or end of the day rather than the middle. Fast & Furious – Supercharged (19.4 minutes) and Trolls Trollercoaster (10.2 minutes) round out the lower-demand side of the park.

A practical hour-by-hour plan

  1. Rope drop: Go straight to Escape from Gringotts. This is the single highest-value early move in our data.
  2. Late morning (10–11am): Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, while the park-wide average is still under 20 minutes.
  3. Midday (12–3pm): This is the park's worst stretch — every ride is climbing toward its daily peak. Use it for lower-demand rides like Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl, Trolls Trollercoaster, and Villain-Con Minion Blast, or take a break for a meal.
  4. Late afternoon (4–6pm): Waits begin dropping. Catch Revenge of the Mummy or The Simpsons Ride here if you missed them earlier.
  5. Evening (8–10pm): The park's easiest window. Re-ride Gringotts or catch anything you missed — 10pm waits average less than half of the 3pm peak.

A crowd note worth knowing

Universal's Passholder Appreciation Days run August 15 through September 30, 2026, and include discounted Express Pass pricing at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. Expect elevated crowds during that window compared with a typical late-summer weekday, according to reporting on the promotion.

Who Universal Studios Florida is for

This is a park for guests who want variety over any single record-breaking headliner. No attraction here averages more than 31.1 minutes — a mid-tier wait by Orlando standards, well below what Epic Universe or Islands of Adventure post for their top rides. What it does have is depth: five attractions in the 20-30 minute range, spread across five different zones, so there's rarely a single ride worth building your entire day around.

It's a tougher sell for guests who want to walk on everything with zero planning — even the shortest-wait ride, Villain-Con Minion Blast, still nearly doubles from its 10pm best hour (4.6 minutes) to its 11am worst hour (9.1 minutes). And families expecting a light simulator day should know that Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, not a coaster, produces the single widest single-attraction swing in the park.
